Editorial Policy
GreyMuzzle exists for one reason: to help people give their senior dogs the best possible golden years. Everything we publish should be useful, honest, and kind — the same standard we'd hold any advice about our own four-legged family members. This page explains how we get there.
How our articles are researched and written
Every article starts with a question a reader like you might ask: Is this bed worth it? How do I know if my dog is in pain? What changes around the house actually help? From there, we gather information from reliable sources — veterinary guidelines, peer-reviewed research, manufacturer documentation, and the firsthand experience of owners caring for older dogs.
We want to be fully transparent about our process: our team uses AI-assisted drafting to help structure research and produce early versions of articles, but no article is ever published without careful human review and editing. A real person fact-checks every claim, rewrites anything that doesn't sound like us, and makes sure the advice is practical and safe. Technology helps us work faster; people are responsible for what we publish.
How we choose products to recommend
Product recommendations on GreyMuzzle are chosen the way we'd choose them for our own dogs: through research, comparison, and judgment. We evaluate what products are most commonly recommended by veterinarians, what owners of senior dogs report working well over time, and how products are built and documented by their manufacturers.
Paid placement is never part of our process. A manufacturer cannot buy a spot in our reviews, and an affiliate relationship never influences which products we cover or what we say about them. When we do earn a commission from a link, it comes from the retailer, never the reader, and it doesn't change our verdict. You can read the full details on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Our commitment to accuracy and updates
We know you may be making decisions about your dog's comfort and health based on what we write, so accuracy matters to us. We aim to get things right the first time, and we also revisit articles when new information, new products, or reader feedback warrants it. When an article is substantially updated, we refresh it with the latest information and note the date it was revised.
If you ever spot something that looks wrong, or that could be clearer, we'd genuinely like to know. You can reach us through our contact page — we read every message, and corrections are made openly.
